As the 2010 Captain of The Aircraft Golfing Society, David Snelson has chosen to support Help for Heroes and Sparks. All proceeds from the Blob bucket and other fundraising throughout the year will be shared between both charities. Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the British Armed Forces who have been wounded whilst in service for their country. H4H has raised £40M in just two years since it started and has used this money to build recovery centres for servicemen in Colchester, Catterick, Tidworth and Edinburgh.
Sparks is the children’s medical research charity. Their remit is to fund research across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine with the goal that all babies may be born healthy and stay healthy. Every day 70 babies are born in the UK with a life-threatening condition or an illness that will affect them and their families for life. Sparks aims to reduce this statistic so all children have the chance of a healthy future. Sparks Golf Diary 2010:
