Ashridge - 4th June 2024

In early June we were welcomed back to Ashridge and what a fabulous day the Society had this year. Ashridge was in excellent condition and such a beautiful course to play and the weather was reasonably kind to us, apart from the last couple of groups getting a little wet! Again, Tim Bygate included many of his extended family for the golf event which was so lovely to see – always makes for a good ambience in the dining room after play!  We had a full field for this event and we welcomed a new member, Andrew Clements.
Tim also very kindly sponsored this event with some really fabulous hampers as prizes, which were very well received.
I think I should mention the fantastic score of one of our visitors – Brendon Dennis.  A guest of Lee Bruce, he scored 43 points. Well played Brendon! Of course this didn’t detract from our members' best score of the day, Andy Fogden with 38 points!
Brian Lovelock kindly donated a prize for the Nearest The Pin.
As always we had a couple of fines for the day.  Nick Bygate for wearing the wrong tie and Vince Lowde for throwing his golf shirt in with the towels for washing. Not that I am “naming and shaming” -  never a dull moment at our golf events, and all for a good cause, Brian’s charity.
