Ashridge - 7th June 2022
In early June we were welcomed back to Ashridge and what a fabulous day the Society had this year. Ashridge was in excellent condition and such a beautiful course to play and even the weather was kind to us. Again, Tim Bygate included so many of his extended family for the golf event which was so lovely to see – the “Bygate family” returned!
Tim also very kindly sponsored this event with some fabulous prizes which were very well received.
Rob Clark kindly donated a prize for the Nearest The Pin.
We welcomed a new member, Darren Carter, who played an outstanding round of golf and came in with an amazing 39 points – pipping our Captain by one point - and won the Dunlop Salver. The downside to this, of course, was that his handicap was cut by 2 shots which was quite a surprise for him! A quick learning curve. Well played Darren and welcome to the Society.
Your Captain, Rob Clark, was in full flow with collecting donations for his charity. As soon as he heard one of the “Bygates” had forgotten their change of clothes and I think some shoes, it became a rather costly day for him!
Thank you also to Andy Fogden for being the photographer for the day.
Congratulations to the following prize-winners:
Members:
1st Darren Carter 39 points – Dunlop Salver - handicap cut of 2
2nd Rob Clark 38 points – handicap cut of 1
3rd Francis Bartlett 36 points
Guests:
1st Paul Davis 35 points
2nd Jason Callender 34 points – Back 9
3rd James Baldry 34 points
Nearest The Pin: Dean Bygate
