Berkshire 22nd June 2021
Well! Another fantastic event was held at The Berkshire. It was hugely supported with 46 players on the day and the reports were, it was a brilliant day out. The course was in magnificent condition and the meal to follow lived up to all its expectations! Stuart and Rod led the day again and ran it extremely well. Tony Cash was at hand as well to help with the cards. Thank you all.
We welcomed Sarah Webb from The Wooden Spoon, our charity partner, who said a few words about this very worthy charity. She also kindly helped Tony with the scorecards!
Before the prize-giving took place, there were two very special presentations to be made by Stuart. Following Tony’s retirement from Honorary Secretary for 21 years – and what an amazing job he did - it felt appropriate to present him with his very special claret jug. He says he felt very honoured and delighted with his gift. Thank you Tony for all your hard work and support of the AGS over such a long period.
Also on this occasion it was felt that Gary Sewell should also be presented with his claret jug for being our brilliant Captain for 2020 – this is usually presented at the AGM but this year it had to be held by zoom. Gary was also delighted with his jug.
On to the prizes for the day and it must be mentioned what an outstanding score Alister Smith had, with 42 points playing off a handicap of 8 (now playing off 6). Well played Alister! Our guests also competed well as you can see from the scores below.
The day was very kindly sponsored by Joe Griffiths of the Camberley Group. Thank you Joe.
