St. George's Hill - White Elephant Day, 28th October
Well, what a difference a couple of weeks make! How lucky were we to actually be able to have the SGH-WED event on 28th October before yet another “lockdown”. Even luckier we chose the most beautiful day in between the worst two days of rain! Returning to our “home course” it was a great end-of-season event for Gary and he really enjoyed the day. It has not been an easy season for Gary but at least we have managed quite a few golf events through the lockdown and after.
With St. George’s Hill being in Tier 2 we were working under much tighter restrictions in order for the Society to play – but members and guests alike all went out and had the most fantastic day’s golf. There were even some brilliant scores from Francis and John – well played both of you. St George’s Hill did their utmost to make the day enjoyable and managed to supply some delicious lobster and prawn rolls and prosecco after 9 holes in place of our Christmas lunch after play as, unfortunately, the Clubhouse was “out of bounds” for the day.
Your Hon Sec, Tony, arrived to meet everyone as they came round after 9 holes. It was great to see him back at the golf day and the members enjoyed catching up with him.
Some excellent golf was played and the results are as follows:
Members:
1st Francis Bartlett – 39 points
2nd John McCarthy – 38 points
3rd Warren Shore – 36 points
Guests:
1st Cliff Williams - 36 points
2nd Clive Travers - 35 points
3rd Kerry Hill - 32 points
Many thanks to all who kindly donated to the Blob Bucket on the day.
