The Captain's Day at St. George's Hill - 7th May 2021
How wonderful to be back on the golf course at our “Home Club” – St George’s Hill. We welcomed a full field for the Captain’s Drive-In on 7th May but unfortunately, not many were there to see Les White tee off the first. The starter advised Les to tee off but it was a little earlier than on the tee sheet and so, many missed his best shot for a long time! We asked if he could do it again but, quite rightly, Les declined as his shot was straight down the middle. Well done Les!
The sun was out and all players set off for what was a “magnificent day of golf”. The course was in amazing condition and no-one could say enough about how much they enjoyed playing their round of golf.
St George’s Hill know how to impress. It must be Tim Bygate’s favourite place as he swept the floor with winning three trophies! Amazing – well played Tim.
The Halfway Hut and the fabulous prizes were very generously sponsored by your Captain, Les White. Thank you Les.
Still being under Government restrictions, SGH managed to cater for our Society in their marquee attached to the Clubhouse and, by all accounts, all enjoyed the meal after play.
Your Captain has chosen Canine Partners as his charity for the year and we hope that you will very generously support this wonderful charity. Being the first event of the year, we weren’t sure how the “Blob Bucket” would be managed under the current restrictions.
Many thanks to Graham Gabb and Jason Abbott for the photographs, and congratulations, of course, to the winners of the day:
