St. George's Hill, October 2019

What an absolute “bumper” of a day we had at St George’s Hill for the White Elephant Day.   Our Captain’s last golf day of the year and we were incredibly lucky with the weather after all the rain that had gone before.  Lots of very happy faces and everyone keen to play this beautiful course.  We had a full field of 71 players which enhanced the competitions for the day of which there were many to play for.  The scores were very close in several competitions and wading through the score cards was no mean task!  As you will see from the results below there were two significantly large countbacks!  I was delighted that some of you played for the Warwicker Putting Plate this year – please make sure you do the same next year!

Thank you to the majority of attendees for bringing your White Elephant Gift either wrapped or in a bag!  The raffle seemed to be very successful this year.

Many thanks must go to our sponsor,  “Aviation at Goodwood”  and their representative who is our member Dave Ford.  They provided the most wonderful prizes for members and guests alike and they all centred around the fabulous Goodwood Estate, either on the golf course or race course.  Very lucky winners!

We also had our special sponsorship by KEC for the Player of the Year award and the runner up and both David Dyson and Cheryl Watson from KEC attended the lunch.  Thank you to KEC for continuing their sponsorship which is much appreciated.  Cheryl was also my invaluable help on the day which was very much appreciated.

We also had in attendance for the lunch the representative from the British Heart Foundation, Nigel Cole, to spread a few words about the Foundation and the work that they accomplish.  This has been our Captain’s Charity for the year, so every pound in that Blob Bucket has gone to a very good cause.
