West Hill 30th July 2019
Well, West Hill was an exceptionally wet and windy day to say the least! On arrival at the Club it was warm and humid but we all knew what was expected! Within minutes of the first group teeing off the rain started to fall, followed by high winds and then torrential rain at times, but with a full field of 59 players, they braved the day!
Nearly all the players came in after the morning round and said the course was in fantastic condition and the greens especially difficult. After a sumptuous lunch and a “little wine” the majority ventured out again for the greensomes and felt no pain! It did brighten up with intermittent sunny periods between the showers.
The day was very generously sponsored again by Hansair and Gary Sewell supplied some fabulous bottles of champagne as prizes. These were most welcomed by the players who won. Prize-giving was run by Tony, Steve and Gary. Steve had provided a fabulous golf bag from Royal Porthcawl as a Nearest The Pin prize and this was won by Steve Ingman a guest of Dave Ford.
